Three airports serve the Washington, D.C. region. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the closest airport to the city, located just five miles to downtown DC. Multiple airlines fly nonstop from DCA to Orlando, including American Airlines, Delta, jetBlue, Southwest, and United. All flights leave from either Terminal B or Terminal C. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is the busiest of the three DC airports, although it is an hour drive from central DC. Seven airlines at BWI offer direct flights to Orlando. Dulles International Airport is about 26 miles west of the city in Virginia and offers a variety of nonstop flights to Orlando.
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the primary airport in Orlando and the second busiest airport in Florida. When you arrive from DC, you will leave the aircraft via a jetway that will take you into a gate area in an Airside Terminal. To reach the main terminal for baggage claim and ground transportation, take the one-minute shuttle ride and walk to Level 2. Rental cars, taxis, shuttle vans, and buses are available on Level 1. You could also arrange for a private car or resort transportation directly from the airport after you book your hotel on Skyscanner.
How to Save Time Flying Out of DC
When flying out of Reagan National, arrive at least two hours before your scheduled flight. Be sure to account for heavy traffic in the city and parking, or check for availability before you arrive. Passengers must show an approved government-issued photo ID to enter any of the four TSA checkpoints. DCA offers the CLEAR program, which allows members to bypass traditional document checks. At the kiosk, travelers are required to scan their boarding passes and provide a biometric scan of their finger or eye.
What to Do at DCA Before You Board
Reagan National has four airline lounges for club members, as well as an array of shopping and dining options for all guests. Grab a cup of coffee to wake you up or head over to the XpresSpa to settle your nerves. Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi or charge all of your devices before your flight at any of the charging stations located throughout the airport.
