Making your way to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field
Dallas/Fort Worth is by far the biggest airport in the region. Going by traffic, it’s the third-busiest airport in the world. Given the massive size and crowds, it can be intimidating, but the smart layout and easy transports around the airport make it fairly easy to navigate.
There are 5 terminals, designated A through D, and they are all connected by a free Skylink train running every 2 minutes and the free Terminal Link vans, which run every 10 minutes. There’s free wifi available throughout the entire airport, too. You can get to DFW via public transport. The DART Light Rail and the Trinity Railway Express commuter rail line both connect to the airport.
Dallas Love Field, by contrast, is a small, peaceful airport with one terminal. It’s really easy to get around, as well. The airport is only 6 miles from downtown Dallas and it’s possible to travel to DAL by public transportation. The airport is served by the DART's Love Link 524 bus route, which connects to the DART Rail Green Line and Orange Line.
Traffic in Dallas can be intense at almost any time of day, no matter which airport you choose. If you’re taking your car you’ll want to budget at least an hour’s driving time.
