Making your way to Miami International Airport

As one of the biggest and busiest airports in the country, Miami International demands a bit of careful planning. Technically, MIA only has a single terminal, but it is sectioned into several huge concourses (which also happen to go by the name of Terminal.) Here’s what you need to know:

The North Terminal is also known as concourse D. It is 1.2 miles long. Don’t worry, though, you don’t have to sprint the whole thing. There’s a free people mover which transports passengers between four stations located along the concourse.

The Central Terminal is divided into three concourses, E, F, and G.

The South Terminal is made up of two concourses, H and J.

Free WiFi is available at MIA, but it is strictly limited. You can choose from a short list of travel-related websites. If passengers require unlimited, unrestricted WiFi, they’ll need to pay $4.95 for the first 30 minutes or $7.95 for 24 continuous hours.

It’s quite possible to get to the airport by public transit, but given the size of the city, routes will vary widely depending on your point of origin. The Miami Intermodal center is connected to Miami International by the free MIA Mover. It’s the hub for most public transportation options, including the Tri-Rail terminal, the bus station, and the Airport Metrorail station.

Arriving in Atlanta

This is a proud city, happily billing itself as the “New South.” It’s a major business center, and has seen an explosion of development and culture in recent years. The culinary scene deserves a special callout, boasting cutting-edge restaurants to rival any of the big coastal cities. City highlights include the Georgia Aquarium (it’s the world’s largest), The High Museum of Art, and the yearly Dogwood Festival.

As befits the hometown of Martin Luther King Jr, Atlanta is also home to The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, which is an educational center and museum dedicated to the struggle for social justice and equality both past and present, in America and around the world.
