Flying Out of Paris

There are three major airports that serve the Paris area. These are the Paris Beauvais Airport, the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, and the Paris Orly Airport. However, the largest and most popular of these three airports is the Charles de Gaulle International Airport.

If you fly out from the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, you will be traveling through the largest and busiest international airport in all of France. In 2016, 65.9 million passengers traveled through Charles de Gaulle Airport, which also makes it the second busiest airport in Europe and the ninth busiest airport in the world.

When you arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport, you will find that there are 10 separate parking areas. One of these is reserved for those passengers with limited mobility (i.e. handicapped parking). However, the other 9 parking areas are terminal-specific to give passengers the closest access to their terminal possible. When you are flying into Madrid, Spain’s capital city, you may be flying into any one of the three civil airports serving the area. These three airports are the Torrejón Air Base, the Cuatro Vientos Airport, and the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport.

The Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, also commonly referred to just as the Madrid-Barajas Airport, is the largest of the three airports and is Spain’s hub of international travel. During 2016, 50.4 million passengers traveled via the Madrid-Barajas Airport. If you land in Madrid at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, you will have a variety of transportation options into Madrid as well as to other cities in Spain if you would like. The underground metro line runs directly from all of the airport terminals to central Madrid while the above-ground train has stops at main tourist areas throughout the city. You can also take local or intercity buses or hail a taxi at the terminal. Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport also offers car rental services in the airport through six car hire companies.
