Flying from Lambert-St. Louis International(STL) to Midway Chicago(MDW), you can take one of the 56 weekly flights on Southwest, or fly United. If you want to fly into Chicago O’Hare(ORD) then you can choose between United’s 76 weekly nonstop flights or American Airline’s 60.
Making your way to St. Louis Airport
Missouri’s largest, and busiest airport, Lambert-St. Louis is located just 10 miles from downtown. In decent traffic it’s only about a 20 minute drive with huge amounts of parking serviced by free shuttles which run 24 hours a day. You can also take public transportation to STL. The MetroLink rail line has stops at both terminals,and a one ride ticket costs $2.50. There are also two MetroBus lines – 49 and 66, which stop at Terminal 1.
The two terminals of St. Louis airport are connected by buses which run 24/7, free of charge. Terminal 2 is taken up entirely by Southwest Airlines flights. WiFi is available, but for a fee. You’ll pay $7.95 for 24 hours of access. Each terminal has its own fenced pet relief area, complete with replica hydrants.
Arriving in Chicago
When you pay a visit to the Windy City, expect a strong dose of history, architecture, and culture, all kept down to earth by a brassy industrial charm. Chicago is famous for its comedy scene. If you have time to drop into Second City or one of the many other clubs, you might get the chance to catch a future laugh legend before they hit the big time.
