Making your way to Logan Airport

Logan International Airport (BOS) consists of 4 terminals (A, B, C, and E -- there is no D.)  Boston has made it pretty simple to get to the airport. If you’re driving, the routes are well marked. Be aware that certain tunnels have a toll of $3.50. You have a wide choice of parking options. If you’d like to take public transport to BOS, the Silver Line Bus is a dedicated airport route which connects to the Red Line subway at South Station. The Blue Line subway also has an Airport stop, but you will need to take a free Massport shuttle to your terminal.

Logan airport is a manageable size, and easy to navigate. The terminals are connected by moving walkways and shuttle buses, and passenger amenities are plentiful. Free WiFi is now available, and there are plenty of charging points throughout the airport.

Arriving in San Francisco

Flowers in your hair are not mandatory, but no one’s going to give you a hard time for your headgear in most of this laidback city’s eclectic neighborhoods. The free spirit of San Francisco may be a cliché by now, but something of that famously open-minded, easy-does-it character has survived the city’s changing fortunes and the tech invasion.

Hit up all the highlights on your first visit: The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, The Mission, The Castro. If you have time, pay a trip to one of the excellent art museums, like the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Next time, linger and explore. This is a city that’s lovely to explore on foot or by bike, but if you want to cover a lot of ground, the public transit is great and it’s hard to beat the historic open-air Trolley system.
