Terminal Information
Flights from McCarran International to LA depart from one of two terminals. Flights via American Airlines, Southwest, and Spirit Airlines depart from Terminal 1, while Delta and United depart from Terminal 3. Please be aware that terminals one and three are in separate buildings, so you’ll want to know which terminal your flight leaves from before you arrive to the airport, since each building has its own separate parking, check-in, baggage claim and retail facilities. Happily, both terminals are well stocked with food, drink and shopping options, so no matter who you fly with, you will be sure to have plenty to entertain you before your flight. It’s recommended that you arrive 90 minutes before your flight departs to ensure plenty of time for check-in and security, and adult passengers are required to show a government-issued photo-ID, or two alternate forms of ID, including ONE issued by the government, in order to board their flight. For further information on which terminal you need to go to, security tips, and the range of shopping and dining options available, have a look at the airport website.
Los Angeles International is the second busiest airport in the US, but there are plenty of facilities to make your landing stress-free. All the terminals at LAX are connected, however since the airport is very large, you may want to take one of the frequent buses between terminals if you need to connect. If you feel like a bite to eat after your flight, there is a wide range of restaurants including ethnic and international cuisine, and plenty of shops to suit your shopping needs. When leaving the airport, you will find baggage claim on the lower floor, and there is a free shuttle service that you can take to any of the remote parking lots, if necessary. If you’re interested in the rental options available, Skyscanner’s page for car rental from Las Vegas McCarran will point you in the right direction.
